Tirunelveli . An illegal arms manufacturing unit was unearthed today and one person arrested in this connection in Sankarankoil, 50 km from here, police said.

A special team led by district Superintendent of Police Ashra Garg raided the factory and arrested Natarajan allegedly with several country made weapons, knives and ammunition.

Natarajan confessed to his involvement in the illegal trade for past five years, police claimed.

Natarajan was held following the arrest of two persons earlier in the day. The two were held for allegedly possessing a country-made revolver during a vehicle check and revealed to the police about the illegal unit, they said.
