Ninth World Tamil conference from June 24 next

Chennai, The ninth World Tamil Conference will be held for four days from June 24 next year at Coimbatore.
The meet was scheduled to have been held in the last week of January 2010 but was postponed to enable more Tamil scholars to participate.
A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of Tamil scholars here today.
The meeting also passed a resolution demanding a political solution to the problems of the Internally Displaced Sri Lankan Tamils.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi presided over the meeting, which was attended by, among others, V C Kolandaisamy, former Vice Chancellor of Anna University and Tamil scholar Iravatham Mahadevan.
