Members from another regiment in the Army have been deployed to the Army Headquarters after removing the Sinha Regiment.
The Sinha Regiment has provided security to General Fonseka since he was attacked by the LTTE.
The Amry officer who informed us of this decision said the decision to remove the Sinha Regiment from the Army Headquarters had been taken with the intention of compromising the General’s security.
