REFUGEE

A top Coast Guard official today met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and reportedly discussed complaints of fishermen about attacks by the Sri Lankan Navy.

A Rajasekar, Coast Guard IG (eastern region), later told reporters that plans were on to "have" an air station at Tuticorin, for which the state government has already allotted 50 acres of land.

Besides, a small air station at Ulundoorpet and a hover-port base in Chennai are also in the pipeline.
