President asks journalists not to instigate Gotabhaya
The President has requested journalists not to instigate Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapksa to get comments against General Sarath Fonseka. The request had been made at the banquet held by the President for journalists at Hilton Colombo last Monday.
The banquet organized for about 400 journalists who had helped during the battle against the LTTE was banned for several journalists affiliated to General Fonseka.
The President had asked journalists not to instigate Gotabhaya to get comments while referring to an interview given by him to the Irida Lankadeepa newspaper. The President had further noted that
government ministers as well as intelligence units have informed him of the negative impact created on the government by comments made by Gotabhaya.
It is also learnt that the President had tried to find out who had formed the questions for Duminda Sanjeewa Balasuriya, who had interviewed the Defence Secretary.
