| The Transport Minister Dalas Alahapperuma stated that certain political leaders in this country have joined hands with foreign elements to destabilise the development activities of the present government. Minister further stated if President Mahinda Rajapaksa gives into this foreign pressure, he would not have eliminated the LTTE terrorism. Minister Alahapperuma made these comments at a propaganda meeting held at Isadeen Town in Matara today. The Minister further stated that there was a plan initiated by certain foreign elements to assassinate the President and protect Prabhakaran. But President Mahinda Rajapaksa has overcome all these challenges with the support of the public. Minister also said President and the government are able to eliminate the terrorism and establish peace and harmony in this country. The people in the Southern Provincial Council played a major role in this process. The time has come for the southern people to show their gratitude to the President and to the government. Minister requested the southern people to join hands with the government to march forward. |
