A member of the DPF told Lanka News Web that the UNP, SLFP (M) Wing and the DPF has signed the preliminary memorandum of understanding (MoU) of the United National Alliance on Friday (30) morning while the SLMC is scheduled to sign the agreement to join the Alliance on November 3.

The spokesperson said the United National Alliance will be officially announced on November 3rd and seven other opposition political parties are scheduled to join the Alliance on that day.

SLMC sources meanwhile said the Alliance of six Tamil speaking minority parties that is to be formed under the leadership of SLMC Leader Rauf Hakeem is to meet on the 3rd and a joint press conference is scheduled to be held on the 3rd to announce the policies of the respective Alliance. The alliance of Tamil speaking minority parties would include the SLMC, TNA, TULF, PLOTE, DPF and the EPRLF Sridharan Wing.
