Udhaya against Genocide of Lankan Tamils

Norway based music director Udhaya of ‘Kadhal Kaditham’ and ‘Beeshmar’ fame is now busy composing music for Tamil albums. How Udhaya got a chance to work for ‘Kadhal Kaditham’ is an interesting episode.

Lyricist Vaseegaran once got a chance to listen to an album of Udhaya and had started to keep in touch with the composer through mails. It happened that both the lyricist and the composer had shared their works through emails and that’s how ‘Kadhal Kaditham’ came out. Until the album got a shape both of them did not see each other and worked through mails! Then later Udhaya and Vaseegaran made a love story to suit the album and later got an idea to make a film and that’s how they got in touch with Cheran’s assistant Saravanan.

This team has joined together again now, not for love but for real tragedies. This will be a journey through Sri Lanka`s refugee camps, where life is a daily struggle with pathetic living conditions, suffering of women, children, elderly and the disabled. The suffering of Tamil civilians in Sri Lanka is described by lyricist Vaseegaran’s sharp words while Udhaya has poured life into the words with his touching music. This work is compiled and is titled as ‘Kuridhivali’. Madhu Balakrishnan, Nithya Shree, Krishnaraj and Udhaya have lent their voice to this album which is produced by V.N. Music dreams.

The audio of this album will be released on December 15th in Grorud Samfunnshu Auditorium in Oslo the capital of Norway at evening 5.30 p.m. There are totally 8 songs in this album and each one will depict the injustice done to the Lankan Tamils and the genocide that happened on May 17 at Mullivaikal. Pains of the minorities will be reflected to the world through this effort.
