Sai pooja at Temple Trees after announcing Presidential elections

A Sai pooja had been held at Temple Trees soon after announcing the Presidential election on the 23rd, which is also the birthday of Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
The pooja was reportedly organized following a proposal made by First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa. The spouses of several ministers closely associated with the President had also been invited for the pooja.
However, Shiranthi had avoided inviting both Basil and Gotabhaya Rajapaksa for the pooja saying they consumed beef.
A priest from the Sai Manidr in Colombo had attended the pooja on the First Lady’s invitation and several devotees have also participated to sing Bajan songs.
The priest had said the President needed to feed dogs and crows as he was suffering from bad effects of Saturn. Mervyn Silva’s wife has been assigned to fulfill this task.
