REFUGEE

The UNP Working Committee is to meet on Thursday (26) morning to decide on the candidature of General Sarath Fonseka as the common candidate at the next Presidential election. A senior UNP parliamentarian told Lanka News Web that the Executive Committee of the UNF would meet that evening and endorse the decision before announcing it officially.

The Opposition Leader has decided to summon a special convention of the party on December 1 to get endorsement for the UNP Working Committee decision to name the General as the common candidate and to back him at the elections.
