REFUGEE

General Fonseka told the media on Tuesday (24) that he has not been defeated in any challenge undertaken by him. He made this comment in response to a question posed by a journalist if the General could win the Presidential election.

Making a brief statement to the media after addressing a business leaders forum at the Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo, General Fonseka said he would officially announce if he would enter politics and contest the Presidential election as requested by the people. He said although any military officer is promoted in rank after retirement, the government has not followed the tradition with him.
