Naval troops recover a large haul of weapons in Jaffna
Jaffna: A team of Sri Lankan naval troops has discovered a massive haul of weapons in the Jaffna peninsula, the Media Center for National Security reported.
An intelligence team attached to SLNS Kanchadewa acting on a tip recovered the buried weapons and ammunition from the general area of Kayts in Jaffna on Saturday.
Among the items were 30 RPG bombs, 70 hand grenades, 14 60-mm mortar bombs, 2 commando mortar launchers, and thousands of ammunition rounds of various calibers.
